“The Soundtrack”

I don’t know about you but I love love love the use of music in storytelling to create mood.  It’s common place in film, television and radio, but I thought it would be fun to experiment with books.  I’m not the first. There is nascent but promising trend at the moment of attaching music to the e-book.

Below is a list, in no particular order, of the music I was listening to during the final stages of the book.  These artists unravel stereotype in one way or another (for example, Lyric’s Born is a Japanese rapper!) and my hat goes off to them for the courage and passion it takes to go against the grain.  The songs I’ve chosen set the tone I was after and I wanted to share that with readers.

A disclaimer: I have done this without the consent of the artists listed below.  I did not ask if I could name their songs in my book (only title, no lyrics) nor did I ask if I could list them on my website.  Or for that matter if I could link the titles to their videos.  Rest assured I am no shill.  Just a fan who really, really loves (there’s that word again) their music.  If anyone objects, please let me know and I will cease and desist.  Until then, enjoy.
